WiseH2O™ App

With the WiseH2O™ App, a smartphone, and inexpensive chemical test strips, users can make real-time water quality observations and learn how those results impact the environment. Users dip a test strip, take a photo, and receive water chemistry results instantly. This technology provides the opportunity to screen for nitrates, nitrites, pH, and other analytes. Users can also take observation photos, add comments, and log waterway disturbances, such as bank erosion or the presence of trash. Each record is captured by time and location to assist with targeted remediation efforts. The app is ideal for crowdsourcing water quality monitoring, understanding the health of fisheries, responding to emergencies, using for industrial applications, monitoring water in agricultural settings, and informing citizens about the quality of water they use and enjoy.
